I left my heart in Carmel <3

This weekend I had to do a work event in Monterey, and to be honest, I mumbled and grumbled the entire way there. It's not that I don't like my job, it's that I don't like giving up my weekends to work. I found out last minute that I was going to have to make the trek, and luckily was able to talk J into tagging along.

The event was hosting some of my key accounts at the Monterey Grand Prix at Laguna Seca Raceway, which is actually a really cool place. We had the star treatment, with free food, drinks, and hotels. I felt bad about being so whiny earlier, because it turned out to be pretty great. I WILL say that I had no idea that a car race can last 4 hours (ONE race. FOUR hours. Whoa.), so after a few hours, and my work commitment being fulfilled, we cut out and headed to a date night in Carmel. I had done a bit of research to find a spot to eat, and the place we landed on could not have been better.

Affina was truly a dream. Amazing food, amazing service, and I am not kidding, live music that included the most beautiful trumpet and piano music ever. I felt like I was in a little Italian town being serenaded by their sweet sounds. Highly recommended for your next trip to Carmel! Visit their website here: http://www.affinacarmel.com/
